Change is Good

Wow, it is hard to believe that Christmas is only 18 days away and I am not in the least bit prepared.  In fact, I have been searching the internet for alternative menus to plan for my Christmas dinner.  As much as I love turkey, I am just in the mood to do something different.  There have been a lot of changes in our lives this year and I think I want to continue with this year of change by doing things a little bit different for Christmas.  Change is good, right?

Yes, change is very good.  (Yes, I realize I answered my own question, but I promise I am not talking to myself.)  I am continually amazed by the way God continues to work in my life, even at this very moment. You see, I had a title and a direction when I started this post, but He has already changed that direction.  To be honest with you, I love it when He does that.  Never in my wildest dreams did I think that me or my family would be where we are today, but He knew.  He knows everything.  Jeremiah 1:5 (AMP) Before I formed you in the womb I knew [and] approved of you [as My chosen instrument], and before you were born I separated and set you apart, consecrating you; [and] I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.  Wow........  Let that sink in for a minute.

When we allow ourselves to change, to become the man or woman that God wants us to be, things begin to happen that we cannot explain.  I continually find myself saying how in awe I am of the things that have happened in my life this year.  This summer my husband and I were faced with a family situation that I believe God used to teach us about the kind of people that we want to be.  During this time we truly learned about God's grace and let me tell you, it is truly amazing.  He showed us how to have faith and to put our trust in Him.  As we sought His strength, we also found strength within ourselves and with each other.  He gave us wisdom to make decisions and changes in our lives in order to be a light to those around us.  He gave us the courage we needed to deal with things within ourselves and within our marriage that opened the door to an amazing line of communication.  He gave us hope that we could continue on this journey and fulfill His purpose and plan for our lives.  Most of all He gave us peace that no matter what comes our way, as long as we put Him first, everything will work out the way it is suppose to.

God is so good.  This is a small part of the wonderful things that have happened this year, but this is the part He wanted you to know about today.
